Junior Life

Half way there! After I finished my freshmen and sophomore life, now is the time for my junior life. First day of classes, I once again meet my old classmates and we are accompanied by our junior teachers and two new students whom we’ll tour around the Don Bosco campus.

Becoming a junior student is one of my hardest years here in Don Bosco Tarlac. There are new subjects that I don’t have an idea namely world history, geometry and chemistry, but eventually I managed to know this subjects slowly. My junior life helped me to express myself to others; some of these activities are when I recited the poem Invictus by William Ernest Henley and my own speech about Fundraising Activities both in public.

My unforgettable experience this school year is when I was given my moment to pray in silence and touch the relic of the Father and Teacher of Youth St. John Bosco. I felt very happy when the Mongolian Empire won in this school years intramurals. In this junior life I met two new friends namely Juan Paolo Castro and Carmelo Manalo whom I’m together with during recess and lunch breaks.

As this school year is about to end we must strive harder for we will already become Seniors who are the oldest students in the campus. I will never forget this memorable stage in my life where I learned values and good traits that I will bring in my journey through life. I will never lat this school year pass without saying thank you to my dear teachers who helped me build my moral values.

Little Prayer

Oh Lord, help us recognize the wasteful practices

that have been insult in this earth.

Let us walk ever in heartfelt gratitude

for this wondrous world, that gift

which You have given us in Your infinite love.

Make me an instrument to protect this earth.

Make people realize how to give importance to your gift.

Let there be no doubt; let there be faith.

Let there be no darkness; let there be light.

Let there be no sadness; let there be joy.

For it is in giving that we receive,

it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,

It is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Fundraising Activities

A pleasant morning to one and all.

According to the internet, Fundraising is the process of soliciting and gathering contributions as money or other resources, by requesting donations from individuals, businesses, charitable foundations, or governmental agencies. In my own understanding, fundraising are basically collecting money from every individual of a specific group and all of the funds gained used for a specific activity that we want to propose.

We can’t conduct a fundraising activity just by ourselves, we need loyal and truthful friends who are willing to help us increase our funds. A good thing that we can do is to establish a group or an organization for us to have a good number or fundraisers to help us in every activity that we do.

Fund raising activity requires money, time and a lot of patience. In this activity we are not sure if we will be able to succeed. So we must always have a plan B. In order for this activity to become a success here are some things to consider.

• Know how much money you need and when you need it. Make sure to add estimated costs to your fundraising goal.

• If possible, start planning your fundraiser at least one month in advance. This way you can get letters and ads written, products lined up, and events scheduled.

• Set beginning and end dates for each project.

• Find out what types of fundraisers have been successful for your group or community in the past.

• If planning a large fundraiser that uses several fundraising sources, estimate the funds needed from each activity. If you can, use figures from past successful events as goal points.

• Use a goal chart to check your progress.

Double check your community calendar

Our government also has this kind of activity. The PCSO or the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, its main purpose is to help those people who are indeed by using a raffle draw. In order to join this raffle we must be older than 18, we should go to our nearest lotto outlets and choose and a group of numbers. If our chosen numbers are all perfectly drawn, we will win a large amount of money. On the funds that the PCSO collected they are used for the cash prizes and a certain percentage for the helping of those all who are in need.

Did you know that here in school we are conducting a fund raising activity? Well you might forget the Love and Share Drive. We care for our poor brothers and sisters here in Tarlac so we launched a campaign in which every student here in Don Bosco Tarlac is required to pay 5 pesos every day to the class treasurers. Our class treasurers will remit the daily collection to the pastoral office. All of the total collected funds will be used to buy some grocery items like canned goods, cup noodles, sardines and other personal utilities like soaps shampoo toothpaste and toothbrushes. This entire primary needs is donated to the adapted community in block 9 San Roque here in Tarlac City.

Joining this special activity is a lot of fun. It establishes teamwork, hard work within our group and patience within ourselves. Always remember that in fund raising activities the longer the time you spend on it, the better quality of the activity will become. So I encouraging every one of you to be consistent in joining this special activity. In order for your plan to succeed it just needs a little time, teamwork and a pinch of patience.

That’s all and have a nice day!

AVR and AVH

Our classroom is our primary place for our classes. Everyday we always use them for classes. Sometimes, we should go out of our usual classrooms and go either AVR or AVH to refresh and relax our selves. AVR means audio visual room while AVH means audio visual hall. It means that if the teachers have something to watch for his or her students, he or she can use the AVR. We also use this special room for our visitors to have some talk with us. Some of them are teen sexuality seminar, PNP seminar and career and vocation days. This audio visual rooms are very useful for this important events. Our AVR is located on the third floor near the computer laboratory while our AVH is located above our school library. Only one class per period is allowed in this places. So if you want to have your classes there just technical assistant that you want to have you classes there.

There are many facilities the school offers us. We have the library for our research works, computer laboratories for our computer classes, chemistry and physics laboratories for our science classes and the audio visual rooms a place for refreshments and relaxation. Where we can have our talks or just watch a movie.

jamaicanlover

A pen name may be used to make the author's name more distinctive. We can invent our own pen name to disguise ourselves to the one who will copy our work. One of the best example is Dr. Jose P. Rizal, who used different pen names to hide himself from the wrath of the spaniards.

When I was a child, my father often calls me jamaican robot. My pen name for this school year in english subject is jamaicanlover. I am a lover. I love my self, my friends and especially my family. I love everything that surrounds me. And that is why my pen name is jamaicanlover.

My Educators

Becoming a teacher is a very hardworking job. They provide us good learnings both in academics and in values. Others say that our dear teachers are our second parents, so we must respect and treat them like we do to our parents. Unlike other occupations, teachers has a lower salary. Our teachers still manage to be an educator because, they the will and passion to teach young boys for the future of our country.

My favorite teacher is Ma'am Lerma Arador, because of her dedicationfor the youth. She is a very good teacher in HEKASI. She is my teacher from Grades3-6. I hope there would be more new teachers here in Don Bosco to increase our learnings and to have friends with them.
